Food delivery service DoorDash announced it is teaming up with General Motors to test using self-driving cars to deliver meals and groceries in San Francisco. A pilot program with the US automaker's Cruise Automation division will start in March, according to the San Francisco-based startup launched in 2013 by Stanford University students.

Telefónica announced its active participation in the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA). The company joins a group of other leading telecommunications and automotive companies with the objective of accelerating the penetration of mobility services such as connected and autonomous car and intelligent road infrastructures.

Uber said it has acquired computer vision startup Mighty AI to help advance its technology for self-driving cars.
