German electronics and engineering conglomerate Bosch has announced that it will construct a €1.1 billion semiconductor plant. The facility will focus solely on producing and developing components for self-driving cars. The announcement represents the biggest single investment in the fabled history of Bosch.

For the first time in Europe, Chinese ICT solutions provider Huawei, Vodafone Germany, and automotive engineering firm Bosch have successfully tested the extended usage of Cellular vehicle to everything (C-V2X R14) in combination with Bosch's Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) driver assistance system using pre-standard 5G.
