China has revealed its plans which it believes if successfully executed will make it the world leader in AI (artificial intelligence) by 2030 - which would see the industry worth around $147.7 billion. China's state council disclosed a three-step roadmap it has established, in which it outlined its thinking behind AI and how it expects the technology to be developed and deployed.

Japan's SoftBank announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement of investment in Energy IoT Platformer, ENCORED INC. ("Encored"). On August 1, the corporate name will change from ENCORED INC. to Encored Japan Inc. ("Encored Japan"). SoftBank will also invest in Encored USA.

AI can enable law enforcement units to predict where crime could potentially be carried out after collecting and subsequently analyzing data retrieved from sensors and cameras.
The recent ransomware cyber-attack which targeted a series of large corporations and multinationals on a global scale has increased the focus on the issue of cybersecurity. India is home to an army of 'ethical hackers' who earn vast sums of money protecting foreign corporations and global technology leaders from cyber-attacks.
