Launching the third edition of SmartEx in Beirut

In a press conference held in the Ministry of Telecommunications, Mohamed Choucair, Lebanese Minister of Telecommunications, launched the third edition of the Smartex exhibition specialized in the Knowledge and ICT sector, along with Nabil Itani, Director General of the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL); Imad Kreidieh, CEO of Ogero; and Elie Rizk, President of the Lebanese Exhibitions & Conferences Associations (LECA). In the conference was also present Naji Andraos, General director of installation and equipment at the Ministry of Telecommunications; Naji Abboud, Head of Owner Supervisory Board; the Minister’s consultant Nabil Yamout; Camille Moukarzel, President of the Professional Computer Association of Lebanon; and a crowd of heads and members of trade unions and companies involved in the exhibition.

Huawei launches industry's highest-performance ARM-based CPU

Huawei announced the industry's highest-performance Advanced RISC Machine (ARM)-based CPU. The new CPU, dubbed Kunpeng 920, is designed to boost the development of computing in big data, distributed storage, and ARM-native application scenarios. Huawei will join with industry players to advance the ARM industry and foster an open, collaborative, and win-win ecosystem, taking computing performance to new heights.

Zain Kuwait becomes first operator in MENA to use drones for cell tower automation

Zain Kuwait, the leading digital service provider in Kuwait announces entering an agreement with Zain Drone to undertake inspections of its tower infrastructure. The agreement sees Zain Kuwait as one of the first operators in the MENA region to deploy drone technology to inspect and maintain its cell tower infrastructure, demonstrating the operator’s drive to become a more agile and cost-efficient operator. The agreement also represents the first commercial deal for Zain Drone.
