In the Italian cities of Turin, Milan, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo and Portofino, micro-mobility services have been expanded due to Helbiz’s new announcement on rolling out electric mopeds.
This move marked the first step of Helbiz’s acquisition of MiMoto, the electric scooter sharing company. Under their agreement, all of MiMoto’s vehicles have become fully integrated into the Helbiz brand.
Salvatore Palella, founder and CEO of Helbiz, stated, “This agreement with MiMoto is an important milestone for Helbiz as we strive to lead the charge in driving sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation round the world. Our riders will now be able to access our enhanced fleet of innovative vehicles, which acfcommodate a wide range of travel options from short trips to long distances. We’ll begin offering mopeds in Italy with plans to expand into every market we operate in.”
Helbiz’s fleet in the Italian cities will comprise of 7000 e-scooters, 1000 mopeds and 3000 e-bikes, catering to an audience of 1.2 million micro-mobility commuters.
