UK rail firms are embracing technology and entering new partnerships in an effort to overhaul and transform its current travel systems. The rail industry in the UK has announced that it will publish more real-time information in a bid to facilitate technology firms aiming to develop intelligent travel apps for the future.

Millbrook to be the first to deploy transport 5G network in UK

Millbrook Proving Ground has started working on deploying advanced 5G network as part of the AutoAir project which groups 5G testbed partners led by Airspan Networks. As reported by Millbrook, this is the "UK's first transport 5G network" and it will help building the future of testing and validation of connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technologies.

Huawei partners with European car manufacturer on connected vehicles

Huawei has gained a strong partner for the development of intelligent connected vehicles signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a strategic cooperation with Audi, the German automobile manufacturer. The agreement forms part of a broad-based partnership between the companies in the two countries initiated by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
