Chinese telecommunications vendor Huawei has announced a series of new partnerships with leading ICT players in the Middle East region in a bid to make 'smart cities' safer. Huawei revealed that it will deliver tailored public safety solutions necessary in order to meet the demands presented by increased urbanization in the fact of smart city transformation.
It has been projected that by 2050, the world's population will grow to almost 9 billion people with half of that number expected to be living in cities. Terrorism, urban congestion, transportation, utilities, and infrastructure all represent huge challenges that will require the innovative solutions of companies like Huawei in order to resolve and identify each city's respective obstacles and challenges.
Merging its extremely high-quality video imaging, intelligent analytics software and a unifying cloud platform enables Huawei to create solutions for specific vertical scenarios and challenges and Huawei has now officially unveiled its end-to-end Safe Campus solution, which empowers local authorities to better protect their people.
The new solution is built on a cloud-based ecosystem that brings together a number of partners, working collaboratively to support the safety of citizens.
Huawei works with regional systems integrator partner Visiontech and global technology partners Hexagon, SAP; iOmniscient for AI-based video analytics; Ipsotek and Vi Dimensions for smart video surveillance; Milestone for video management software; Vidsys for its Converged Security and Information Management (CSIM) software platform; and Zenith for number plate recognition technology.
Safe Campus is designed to be deployed in buildings, office spaces, stadiums, schools, hotels, and many more scenarios to assist in incident prevention, emergency response, and evidence collection. The offering comprises of a variety of hardware, AI algorithms, video cloud infrastructure and scenario-based options for mosques, schools, transportations facilities and more.
