Smart Dubai has announced the completion of the design phase of the Unified Registry for Dubai Government Employees, an initiative launched in response to a directive from the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) to create a unified data register for Dubai government employees.
The UAE ranked first in the Arab world and 31st globally in a recent report about the best countries for remote working.
The Smart Living initiative has achieved savings up to 179.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity and 67.7 million gallons of water, since its launch in July 2020 until January 2021. This is equal to savings of AED 52.6 million. Smart adoption of the initiative has reached 100% while 1.24 million digital visits have been recorded. The initiative reduced 15,643 tonnes of carbon emissions. Customer trust has increased to 92% while their satisfaction reached 98%. The initiative has improved the productivity of employees by 27% while the service quality has reached 94%.
Alfanar and Saudi Aramco have agreed to boost sustainable cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), which covers various initiatives that are aimed to augment localization, innovation, digitization and sustainability in the Kingdom.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced the launch of the 4th edition of UAE Hackathon: Data for Happiness and Wellbeing organized by TRA virtually with support from the National Program for Happiness and Wellbeing across the seven emirates of the country. The opening ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, TRA Director General and Head of the UAE Digital Government, and H.E. Salem Al Hosani, Acting Deputy Director General of the Information and Smart Services Sector.
