Dubai has launched a digital platform to help entrepreneurs to start a business in the emirate.

Smart Dubai celebrated the graduation of 35 participants from its Digital Service Design Professional Diploma, designed in collaboration with the University of Dubai and the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation (DIDI) and targeting Smart City Experience Specialists.

The UAE has made innovation a way of life and an administrative approach to modernising government work and strengthening sustainable economic development based on clear plans and strategies, enabling the country to be ranked first in the Arab region and 34th globally in the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2020.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has allocated $1.15bn (AED4.26bn) to supply the Expo 2020 Dubai with electricity and water as well as supporting its electricity and water infra projects using the latest smart systems as the Official Sustainable Energy Partner of Expo 2020.

EVOTEQ, a UAE based digital transformation catalyst and GS1 UAE, a leading provider of supply chain standards and solutions, have announced a partnership agreement to work collaboratively for the creation and deployment of best-in-class traceability solutions. The strategic new alliance is expected to address a diverse range of traceability challenges being faced by various industry verticals, including the pharmaceutical industry. The move is seen to curb the proliferation of counterfeit goods, particularly across the food and beverage industry, where the need for traceability and focus on food safety has never been stronger.
