A European self-driving company has entered into a partnership agreement with an Israeli security firm in a bid to accelerate their attempts to develop autonomous vehicles. Vedocom Tech and Israel's Karamba Security announced their collaboration by releasing a joint-statement. Both organizations expressed its confidence in the new partnership, which they hope can propel them into developing autonomous cars that will be deployed across major European cities in the next year.

Finnish telecommunications powerhouse Nokia has expressed his frustrations with its connected car project in Europe. The head of Nokia's V2X program, Uwe Puetzschler, has warned that Europe 'is not as happy as it should be' and derided the poor quality of networks available to them in their bid to advance the connected car sector.

A German car manufacturer is set to expand their collaboration agreement with a robot maker in a bid to examine and explore ways in which robots can help drivers of electric and autonomous vehicles.

German car manufacturer Daimler has announced that it plans to invest $735m in electric vehicle production in China. In a statement issued to the press, Daimler announced that alongside its Chinese joint venture partner BAIC Motor Corporation will jointly invest 5 billion yuan ($735M) in the pursuit of battery electric vehicle production in China by 2020. In addition to this, it further disclosed its commitment to provide the infrastructure that is required.

Swedish car manufacturing colossus Volvo has announced that all new models launched from 2019 will be fully electric or hybrid vehicles - which signals the end of nearly a century of Volvo cars being powered solely by the internal combustion engine.
